BSNL Broadband Review | Services & Speed

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is one of the major telecom services in India, and they have connected whole India via telephone services for decades now. They played a crucial role in helping India communicate in a better way. BSNL and MTNL are the first organization that set up the Internet connection lines all over India because they have an established network of DSL connection across India.

No one can deny that they have reached areas that no other private organization has step foot in that area at business perceptive. BSNL  and MTNL tried their best to provide internet services in areas that no other broadband willing to come forward.

But, did BSNL lost its touch?

Is BSNL worth considering in the digital generation of India?

We will answer all of your questions in the review today.

If you are planning to get a new Internet connection in Local and you have shortlisted BSNL broadband, then you need to check out BSNL broadband Review.

BSNL is a government launched and owned company, and they report directly to the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India.

You cannot doubt that communication and power of the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India because they have evolved over the years making difficult choices and decisions for the people welfare.

They play a crucial role in providing services in a non-profit area without considering their profits and welfare.

BSNL provides various services to the people, and they are,

  • Landline services: It wouldn’t come as s surprise that they are the pioneer in landline services in India.
  • BSNL broadband services: They have also stepped foot in the broadband services, and they are providing it for a long time now.
  • Enterprise services: BSNL is a major telecom company, and you can expect them to provide high-end DLC, VC, PRI, BRI, 2G, 3G, FFTH, EPABX, and more services to the enterprise level companies across India.
  • Mobile services: Yes, BSNL also is in the mobile telecom sector as well, and they are offering decent offers to the citizens of India at reasonable prices. But, Jio has kind of destabilised many telecom companies including BSNL.

However, they did not blame the Reliance JIO creative and evolutionary idea, and they have later offered a competitive offer to the existing customers.

Coming to the support, yes, BSNL customer care exists for every existing customer and new customer, so they can help you wh8en you need them the most. BSNL Broadband has email support, raise ticket support, and dedicated voice support.

BSNL complaint number: 1800-345-1500. It’s a toll-free number to connect with BSNL broadband customer support team anywhere in India, and you don’t have to pay for the call from any operator.

BSNL Bill Payment (only payment related issues): portalhelpdesk@bsnl.co.in. In case, if something went wrong while making a payment, then you can contact the email support team, where they will resolve the payment issues.

BSNL BroadBand reviewHave you ever wondered how BSNL could provide you with decent speed internet connections across India and faster than other broadbands? Allow us to answer your question, and we will also include the internet speed offered by the BSNL, so you can understand what you get from what you are paying to the BSNL.

First, there are four types of connections offered by the BSNL, and we will elaborate them to you.

  • Landline Broadband: It’s the regular cable or wired connection that majority of the Indians have it at their home.
  • Dial-Up Internet / Wi-Fi: BSNL offers WIFI or Dial-up connection, but it’s not Wireless connection. And we will tell you why WIFI is not the wireless connection offered by the BSNL.
  • WIFI Max Broadband: Now, this is the wireless connection.
  • Fiber Broadband: The main connection that can deliver more than 50MBPS connection to every customer is Fiber connection.

Here are the four types that BSNL is offering as of now.

In the landline broadband, you have fiber connection and DSL connection. Make sure to ask the BSNL executive and confirm with customer care, whether your area has Fiber Connection services because you may also get DSL connection, which does not provide more than 16MBPS per second connection.

Speed: The BSNL offers 1MBPS to 20MBPS connection to the new customers and existing customers.

BSNL offers plenty of plans to their customer, but I want to take off your interest in all packages except for the unlimited packages. I mean, there is no point in going for limited or FUP packages, when you get unlimited FUP in every package.

I want you to focus on the latest package launched by the BSNL to counter other broadbands. By paying Rs.99 starting and the price ends at Rs.399, you can get 20MBPS internet speed connection with FUP. While the FUP starts with 45GB and it increases to 600GB, but you have to spend at least Rs.99 per month.

Honestly, I think, this is one of the best packages you can get in the market because back in 2014, I paid Rs.350 for 1MBPS connection with 30GB FUP. For Rs.99, you get 20MBPS with 45GB FUP.

BSNL launched it to counter Jio Fiber broadband service with Jio TV access and unlimited calls at less than Rs. 1,000 and it is said to offer 100MBPS speed.

Check out Unlimited Plans | Check out BSNL Plans

Honestly, the unlimited plans weight it, while regular plans are not impressive because you can get better options from other broadbands.

BSNL BroadBand reviewBSNL and MTNL stand on the top when it comes to reaching regions that no other private internet service provider has reached it. Regarding availability, BSNL stands on the top.

You can expect a new connection the areas that seem deserted and no hope to get any connection, and you have to give the props to the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India.

Keep in mind that there are few loopholes in ground customer service in many regions.

First, check the region ground customer service because if they are lazy, then you are doomed.

BSNL BroadBand reviewLet me remind you that you have double check if the BSNL has Fiber or DSL connection in your region. Also test your region ground customer service people because if they are lazy, then you have to suffer later on. Let us know what do you think about it in the comment section below.

Pros

  • You can get connections in undeveloped regions.
  • You can make payments via online apps, so payment method has become easy.
  • They have a dedicated customer support Phone, E-mail, and Raise a complaint, but they are a bit slow in undeveloped region.
  • They have decent unlimited packages and they will announce more unlimited package to counter Jio Gigafiber.
  • You get attractive unlimited packages with good FUP, but make sure to double check if your region has Fiber or DSL connection.

Cons

  • Broadband Speed: I have informed you that you have to double check if your location has a fiber connection, right? Because in many areas, BSNL doesn’t have a fiber connection. Only fiber connection can give you 50% of the bandwidth of 20MBPS. If your area connection is DSL, then you will get less than 2MBPS connection. Your package doesn’t matter at this point. So double confirm whether your area has fiber cable infrastructure.
  • Customer Service: The ground customer service are the laziest people I have ever seen in every broadband service. Unfortunately, in BSNL, your region ground customer service might be lazy. I would like you to check your region customer service people, or else, you are doomed because they don’t fix your connection even after a week, or so.
  • Unprofessional Customer Care: Many have complained that BSNL hires unprofessional people or they don’t train them properly and it turns into a mess because the customer executive may sound unprofessional and doesn’t sound like to help you.
  • Ping: If you are a gamer, who plays multi-player games, then I would recommend you to stay away from MTNL and BSNL. Many multi-players in India, including my friends, have reported that BSNL and MTNL have the worst ping ever. The higher the ping, the slower the game is going to become, so avoid BSNL and MTNL to avoid the laggy game.
  • Packages: Many limited packages don’t make any sense in this generation. I mean, the smaller private broadbands offering better speed. FUP, and service to the people.

Difference between Wireless, DSL, Optical Fiber:
It wouldn’t come as a surprise that consumers cannot tell the difference between DSL, Optic Fiber, and Wireless connections. There’s no shame in not knowing about it because life is a learning process.

Wireless: Currently, many ISP are offering Wireless connections in urban cities to the consumers. The Internet Service Provider eliminates the cable, and he provides you access to the Wifi Internet that router installed near to your house. There are few ISP, who let you use WIFI installed in stores, restaurants, shopping malls, and any place where XXX ISP added their routers in India. The company provides you Login with a password; then you can use it anywhere in India.

DSL: DSL full form is Digital subscriber line, which is the first line that enabled Internet connection possible in India. The DSL connections are spread throughout India, which covers urban cities to villages. The downside of the DSL connection is speed, and 15MBPS is the final Internet speed DSL can offer.

Fiber Optic:Optical Fiber is the next generation technology of DSL. You can say that it is an improved version of DSL, where the Optical Fiber cut the cost to 25% and the maximum speed Fiber can offer is 100MBPS. The downside of Optical Fiber connections is that the infrastructure is limited to urban cities only. While DSL connections are throughout India, so it’s going to take a long time to replace DSL with Optical Fiber.

How we rate Broadband services:
We have mentioned that our reviews come from old customers or existing customer’s feedback and the complaints. We gather data from reputed websites, where customers add their feedback to tell the world about their experience with the ISP. We gather multiple reviews from various sources, then combine them to rate the ISP. Other things go into rating factor like Plans, Price to value, Customer support response, and Problem-solving capacity as well. We follow a pattern that helps us rate the ISP based on their performance and customer feedback. We consider every point, then note down the advantages and downside of the ISP, then we rate them accordingly.
